Michail Risvas

Michail Risvas is a lecturer in law at the University of Southampton (United Kingdom), specializing in Public international law, International arbitration and World trade organization law. From 2014 until 2018, Michail practiced with an international law firm in Paris, acting as counsel in investment and commercial arbitrations under the International centre for settlement of investment disputes (ICSID), United Nations commission on International trade law (UNCITRAL), London court of international arbitration (LCIA), and International chamber of commerce (ICC) rules in the banking, defense, gaming, mining and metallurgy sectors. He is included in the list of arbitrators of Court of arbitration for art (CAFA) of the Netherlands arbitration institute (NAI) and the Common court of justice and arbitration (CCJA) of the Organization for the harmonization of business law in Africa (OHADA).

Michail Risvas has taught at different universities in Europe and Latin America, and has published on International economic law, the Law of the sea, and cultural heritage. Professor Risvas holds four degrees: Bachelor of laws (LL.B.), Master of jurisprudence (M.Jur.), Master of philosophy (M.Phil.), and Doctor of philosophy (D.Phil.) from the University of Athens (Greece) and the University of Oxford (United Kingdom).
